1 C. water
1 1/2 T grapeseed or other vegetable oil
1 1/2 T honey
3 T powdered milk
1 1/2 t. salt
2 T fresh yeast
3 C Sunrise Flour Mill 100% Organic Whole-Grain Spelt
Combine the first six ingredients and mix into solution.
Add solution to the 3 C flour. Stir until thoroughly mixed.
Shape into an oblong ball and place in mid-size oiled pan (we use 6 1/2" X 3 1/2" base with 8 X 4 1/2 top, and 2 3/4" depth)
Let rise 2-4 hours at room temperature or until dough has risen to top of pan.
Bake 1 hour - 1 hour 10 minutes at 300 degrees. Time may vary depending on oven. If you let it go longer than 1 hour, watch to see that top doesn't get too dark due to the honey content. Internal temperature should reach 200 degrees. A small thermometer is a good investment if you will be doing a lot of baking. We check every loaf that we bake even when using the same recipe and same oven.
Remove from pan immediately and cool on a wire rack.
