7-Grain Heritage Pancakes

We blended some of our favorite organic whole grains for a pancake mix that is full of nutrients yet light and fluffy, just like a pancake should be. We use a fine mill of Turkey Red wheat; Red Fife wheat; Oat; Rye; Buckwheat; and Wild Rice Flours; as well as flaxseed meal. The wild rice is paddy rice, not cultivated, and comes directly from Minnesota natural stand wild rice. Many of our customers with a gluten intolerance find this blend to be more digestible. Use the recipe below, or add in an egg or mashed banana for a creamy, sweet version.
Servings: 6 Pancakes
Ingredients
- 1 Cup 7-Grain Heritage Pancake Mix
- 1 Cup Milk
- 2 tbsp Melted Butter or Coconut Oil
Instructions
- Using a whisk, mix 7-Grain Heritage Pancake Mix and milk in a large bowl.
- Slowly mix in butter or oil. If you like a thinner pancake, add more milk.
- Let rest for five minutes. Meanwhile, warm a large skillet over medium heat.
- Once batter has rested, ladle pancake mix onto hot skillet, in increments of ¼ cup to ½ cup at a time.
- Flip pancakes once bubbles begin to form, or when the bottom turns golden brown. Heat for another minute or two.
- Top with butter; maple syrup; honey; fruit; or nuts.

Absolutely delicious light pancakes! Added more milk, used one and a half cups and blueberries. Cooked evenly on both sides and has an incredible intense flavor of grain. Love, love this pancake, am a fan!

I am old school & always made my pancakes from scratch. Now that the grandkids can’t come over I decided to try your mix as it sounded so good & healthy. I am a complete convert! Best pancakes ever! Very light & fluffy. I eat plant based so I subbed soy milk & unsweetened apple sauce for the fat. I tasted one to get a sense of the flavor & it was so good I ate them plain! Thank you for an excellent, quality product that is so delicious!
They taste great, not doughy like regular flour. I like to make them extra thin and crispy and have as a leftover to eat with a salad. I have gluten sensitivity and the pancakes have not given me any digestive problems. I like the fact that the flour does not contain bromide and other chemicals like the commercial “junk.”
My father was known for his pancakes and waffles. I have been making pancakes several ways over the years & they were ok – until I made pancakes using your mix! I would have sworn my Dad had made them! So delicious! Now, my little granddaughter, who is a very picky eater, asks for pancakes every times she comes to visit. I loved these pancakes, but I want to know if there are other recipes you can use this mix for other than pancakes or waffles?
I always make my pancakes with buttermilk, has anyone tried this with your mix?
I use half buttermilk and half low-fat milk. They taste wonderful. I also add a tablespoon of sugar, teaspoon of cinnamon and vanilla. My grandchildren love them this way.
I can’t find an ingredients list for this mix. What is the rising agent? Baking powder? Please send complete list of ingredients.

I love these pancakes so much! I never really cared for pancakes before, I just liked the syrup and butter, but these are really good and flavorful. I am thinking about trying some other things with the mix, like quick breads.

Just tried the pancake mix for the first time. It’s a keeper!
I am looking forward to trying these again! Because the first time was a bust. This was an operator error, I admit. I did not have milk so I made my own using heavy cream and water. I did not add butter because I figured there was enough fat in the cream. Well, it was so thick I added a touch more water, and the batter made a gooy pancake. So I added a bit more flour, let it sit, and well the pancake was OK. I’m going to follow the directions to the letter again in a few days, and l so look forward to a true 5-star review. 🙂
I have always made pancakes with buttermilk, but these were the best pancakes we have ever eaten. Will be keeping this in my cupboard always.
