At Sunrise Flour Mills we like to encourage people to bake bread at home. That’s why we offer a freeze-dried sourdough starter and a Heritage sourdough starter kit. Our sourdough starter is 100 years old. It has been used to make delicious sourdough bread for a countless number of people. No matter which sourdough bread recipes you use it with it will deliver a beautiful loaf. Our sourdough starter kit includes a sourdough starter and a bag of our popular organic bread flour. This heritage bread flour is a blend of Turkey Red and White Sonora wheat berries. Because it is a heritage flour it is nutritious, more flavorful and more digestible than modern hybridized wheat. Many people with gluten intolerance find our bread flour more digestible.
