What is Heritage wheat?
Heritage wheat was the predominant wheat grown in America up until the 1950’s. Many people find it more digestible than modern wheat. Its long deep root system allowed it to survive the Dust Bowl, and gave the Midwest its famous nickname “The a Bread Basket”. Heritage wheat was a staple in every household. The history of it can be tracked to biblical times and has been responsible for nourishing generations. It was grown before the introduction of intensive scientific plant breeding.This wheat is experiencing a resurgence.

Amazing pizza dough!
I made my regular pizza dough the other night using Heritage Pizza Flour. I could not believe how easy the dough was to roll out. It baked beautifully and tasted amazing. I have sensitivities to wheat but found that this wasn't too upsetting for me. I highly recommend this pizza flour.
Flour that helps my tummy enjoy pizza
I have struggled a little to figure this pizza flour out, but hit the nail on the head with it tonight with different measurements of a little more flour a little more yeast and a longer prooving. Four cups of flour yielded two lovely fluffy and crunchy crusts everyone enjoyed and tummies did not suffer. This flour and the other flours available, really help with gluten sensitivity. I never feel bloated or nasty when I bake my own products with Sunrise flours.

Great healthier substitute for 00 flour!
I try to generally avoid white bread, and my attempts to use part whole wheat flour in pizza crust in the past were somewhat disappointing. It tends to be a little too heavy, chewy and sweet. The Heritage Pizza flour dough was surprisingly elastic, light, tender, and neutral-tasting. My picky husband didn’t even notice the difference!
Tremendous Pizza Dough
I used this flour in my Zorjirushi bread machine to make pizza dough and it was terrific. It's great to work with and I was very much helped by the video that showed how to shape the dough into a pizza crust. It's delicious!

Every Friday night we make homemade pizza and watch a movie with our kids. Tonight we made the pizza with Heritage Pizza Flour and it was delicious!! Normally, I mix an all-purpose flour with whole-wheat flour but this texture was perfect! I could instantly tell the texture would turn out nicely by the way the dough came together in the mixer. So happy I came across Sunrise Flour Mill. I am excited to try the all-purpose flour and bread flour that I also ordered. Next time I will order the 25# bag of Heritage Pizza Flour :)
This takes homemade pizza to a whole new level
Our family has enjoyed homemade pizza nights for over 30 years. This year for Christmas meal, what did the kids and grandkids ask for? You guessed it, homemade Pizza. This was our first time having pizza with SFM HERITAGE PIZZA FLOUR, and wow, what a difference it made!!!! First off, the texture and flavor are much improved in the final product using the same old recipe I have used for over 30 years, the kids all had raving reviews, 3 of us have gluten sensitivities and had no issues with the Heritage Pizza Flour, and.... no blah glutenfree doughs are ever necessary again!!!
Homemade Pizza Weekly
The pizza flour has turned homemade pizza night into an almost weekly occurrence. Following the Sunrise Flour Mill pizza dough recipe has worked perfectly for me. I split the dough into two and make two large pizza crusts, one to have that night, one I stick back in the fridge to use as a breakfast pizza in the next day or two. Great texture, and best of all, my gluten intolerant fiancé can eat it with no problem.

I have trouble with gluten and have tried many different alternatives. All have tasted bland ( no taste) with a texture that is gritty. Often the crusts are too hard. I really like this pizza flour! Simple as that!. I am able to make thin crust or a thick pan size pizza crust and they are both delicious. I don't have trouble digesting this type of flour so for that I am very grateful because I love pizza!

Haveing gluten sensitivity for far too many years, I never thought I'd be eating pizza again...(GF pizza didn't cut it). I'm making pizza again (and often) with Sunrise mill pizza flour.
