What is Heritage wheat?
Heritage wheat was the predominant wheat grown in America up until the 1950’s. Many people find it more digestible than modern wheat. Its long deep root system allowed it to survive the Dust Bowl, and gave the Midwest its famous nickname “The a Bread Basket”. Heritage wheat was a staple in every household. The history of it can be tracked to biblical times and has been responsible for nourishing generations. It was grown before the introduction of intensive scientific plant breeding.This wheat is experiencing a resurgence.

I love the Heritage Wheat Berries but the package was damaged and open when it arrived and the contents were filthy and some had deep scratches that I was worried had broken the seal however the thick packaging saved it.
I loved, loved, loved the White Sonora Wheat Berries! Sorry no photos. I used it 2 different ways. I used it as a base with sautéed peppers, tomatoes, onions, and chicken and it was super good. Love the texture of the berries. Also used it in my breakfast. I seasoned the berries with sea salt and cayenne pepper, sliced avocado, crumbled goat cheese, and an over medium egg on the top! It was so good that I will do that again and again! Thanks for all you're doing for the organic, heritage, wheat world!
