Homemade Granola Recipe

Ingredients

4 ½ cups Sunrise Oat Cereal

½ tsp salt (omit if you are using salted nuts or seeds)

1 cup coconut flakes, sweetened

⅓ cup sliced or slivered almonds

½ cup sunflower seeds

1 Tbsp chia seeds

1 1/2 tsp cinnamon

½ cup butter or coconut oil
-
½ cup honey
-
2 ½ tsp vanilla

⅓ cup brown sugar

¾ tsp baking soda- add after mixture is boiling and the heat is turned off

Directions
Heat oven to 315F
Line a jelly roll pan or baking sheet with parchment paper.
Mix together dry ingredients (minus baking soda) in a large mixing bowl and set aside.
In a small saucepan, add all wet ingredients and bring to a boil.
Once boiling, remove from heat.
Add baking soda (it will foam- this is good)
Combine wet and dry ingredients
Spread in a thin layer on the prepared jelly roll pan or baking sheet. Depending on the size of your baking sheet, you may need two sheets.
Place in a heated oven. After about 10 minutes, stir and turn over. Return to oven for about 10 more minutes. Watch it very closely as it can burn quickly.
When it is brown and crisp around the edges, remove from the oven and cool until it’s easy to handle.
Break into chunks and enjoy!
