About Organic Rye Flour
Milled from organic Rye berries.
Available in both Fine and Coarse.
A very low protein flour, it has a nutty, earthy flavor. It has a low gluten content so it needs to be used in conjunction with wheat flour. Mother Nature packs rye full of nutrition. It is typically higher in fiber and provides more micronutrients, especially B vitamins, than other flours. Both the fine and coarse grinds are whole grain products.
What is Heritage wheat?
Heritage wheat was the predominant wheat grown in America up until the 1950’s. Many people find it more digestible than modern wheat. Its long deep root system allowed it to survive the Dust Bowl, and gave the Midwest its famous nickname “The a Bread Basket”. Heritage wheat was a staple in every household. The history of it can be tracked to biblical times and has been responsible for nourishing generations. It was grown before the introduction of intensive scientific plant breeding.This wheat is experiencing a resurgence.

Your subscription will automatically renew on a recurring basis at which time your credit card will be charged automatically for the subscription products until you cancel your subscription. Taxes and shipping fees may apply. You may cancel your subscription at any time from the Subscriptions section of your account.
How to create a subscription
Simply find the products you want to order on subscription and select "Subscribe and save", then choose the frequency for delivery 30 days, 60 days, 90 days or 120 days. Finally add the product to your cart and proceed to checkout. You can add as many products as you like to your subscription.

To manage your subscription login in to your Sunrise account and you will have tools to adjust, pause or cancel your subscriptions.

Rye for everything
Your organic rye flour is unbelievably fresh and flavorful. I put it in every loaf of bread, batch of cookies, pie crust, pancake, and pizza crust that I make. It adds an earthy flaky texture. I have two sourdough starters now. One, named Olga, is made from your organic rye flour, and the other, named Casper, is made from your dehydrated starter from Italy. Olga is a strong, hearty starter for my rich grain rye sourdough breads and rolls. Thank you for this flour.

Whole grain rye
My first experience subbing this floue into my sourdough rye recipe wasn’t 100% successful. I learned to soak the flour ahead. This flour seems to need more liquid than normal rye does. That said, the bread tasted great.

Rye flour really kick starts the starter. Also I love rye bread with caraway seeds. All of your flours are marvelous I’ve been baking for a few years after I discovered your wholesome flour. Now no stomach upset!

I use it to make sourdough bread. I add 50-100 grams to the mix for a great taste!

Fine Rye flour for sourdough starter
I switched from using the Bread Blend flour for my starter to all fine rye flour. My starter always ferments, whether in the fridge or at room temperature.

Organic Rye Flour is a winner
Initially used this to make a sourdough starter. Results are fantastic. I now have an extremely active starter to use in my various baking pursuits. Expect to use it in other ways in the future. Can't wait to make some old fashioned rye bread.
