What is Heritage wheat?
Heritage wheat was the predominant wheat grown in America up until the 1950’s. Many people find it more digestible than modern wheat. Its long deep root system allowed it to survive the Dust Bowl, and gave the Midwest its famous nickname “The a Bread Basket”. Heritage wheat was a staple in every household. The history of it can be tracked to biblical times and has been responsible for nourishing generations. It was grown before the introduction of intensive scientific plant breeding. This wheat is experiencing a resurgence.

First Time customer
Honestly, my first time experience was a little frustrating but that was my fault in not following the instructions as closely as I should have. Forgetting a step is a no no but also a lesson. I didn't ruin my first try but I'm planning on the 2nd one nailing it! The reason I am using your product is because a friend is using it and I found it didn't impact my Burning Mouth Syndrome like regular bread does. And, sourdough bread doesn't have sugar in it so that's my go to recipe. Just learning but excited for future success. I know, you would think bread making at my age would be a natural. Tried it in my early married years but kids, husband, job, etc., managed to absorb the time. Now I'm excited to get back to it especially using flour from grains grown as they should be. Thank you for your diligence in that!

Review of Bread Flour
I have found that when I adjust the ingredents for high altitude baking the recipes turn out great. I live at 8046' in elevation so it was a learning experience,to say the least, I make tortillas that are delicious as well as fluffy and last in the fridge for quite a while. I use a 50/50 blend of AP and Bread flour for my Biscuits, amazing ! Light texture, wonderful flavor and they rise beautifully. I want to thank you so bery much for your products they are a "life savor" because without them life would be very boring. My Granddaughter has Celiac disease and I told her about your products and she loves them also.

This is the ONLY flour we use!
Gluten sensitive household - but my wife can eat anything made with Sunrise Mill Flour! This is a must buy!

Wheat I can eat again!
Makes great sourdough bread!

Great sandwich bread flour
I love this flour. I make a simple honey wheat bread and the bread blend is phenomenal for this recipe. The entire 5lb bag makes a perfect 4 loaves in my cast iron bread pans. It is moist, freezes and reheats perfectly with the most amazing buttery crisp crust and soft, fluffy center. Great sandwich bread.

Relief
Finally found flour that I agrees with my digestion system. So thankful you make this flour. Have tried white, whole wheat, pastry, bread flour and the pancake mix. Find them all awesome products.

Great Bread Blend
Great results with the Heritage Bread Blend.

Sunrise bread blend flour
This is the only flour I use for my sourdough bread.

Bread flour blend
I’m so excited to be able to bake + eat delicious wheat bread again after many years of what I thought was gluten intolerance. I tested the bread made from Sunrise flour + never had any inflammation. Then I tested regular flour + immediately experienced inflammation. Now I know it’s not gluten that I have a problem with, it’s the way wheat is treated when it’s farmed + processed. Thank you for all the things you do the right way

Bread Flour
I love to use Sunrise Bread Blend for regular bread and my sourdough bread.

I make the best sour dough bread using Sunrise Flour Mill Heritage Bread Blend
When I discovered Sunrise Flour Mill I’d been regularly making sour dough bread. Once I started using it, I found that my bread was turning out better and the recipe I found on the website was actually better than the one I’d been using. When I told my family and friends about it, they tried my bread and discovere that they could eat it without a problem. I love that the products are healthy and safe!

Bread
I like the taste and it works great in my bread maker!

Flour
Very good flour and cornmeal. Highly recommend both.

Excellent product

Excellent Flour
I have been making bread for 50 years and this is one of the best - if not THE best flour I have used! It performs well, has a good texture, and tastes great. I recently made bread with another flour I had to purchase in an emergency - and was reminded how much more difficult other flours can be to work with! And, everybody in the family can eat it! No allergies!

Best Flour
I’ve been baking bread for years, but after switching to Sunrise flours my bread has been exceptional. I will never buy grocery store flour again. Makes wonderful yeast bread and is a strong flour for sourdough. I’m so thankful that small mills like Sunrise are still around and providing a product that is consciously healthier.
