This bread flour is a unique blend of two heritage wheat flours - Turkey Red and White Sonora. Turkey Red is a strong, hard winter wheat that's rich in protein and has excellent baking qualities. It has a pure white endosperm that will dazzle you. No need for bleaching this organic bread flour. It is naturally an unbleached flour. White Sonora is a soft wheat with a rich, nutty flavor and creamy-gold color. Together these flours will make a loaf of bread you’ll be proud of whether it’s sourdough or made with yeast. We think it’s the best flour for bread.

I'm brand new to sourdough baking and I purchased my starter kit and Heritage Bread Blend Flour from Sunrise Mills. I followed the directions that came with my kit, and loaf #1 was just "ok" (we ate it any way). Loaves #2-10 have been amazing, as have the waffles, focaccia, crackers, etc that I'm making with my starter discard. My family is delighted, and so am I!
