We use bronze dies that give our organic heritage shell pasta a rough surface that will better hold your favorite sauces. It is then slowly air-dried at low temperatures to retain as much flavor and nutritional value as possible. What is Heritage wheat?
Heritage wheat was the predominant wheat grown in America up until the 1950’s. Many people find it more digestible than modern wheat. Its long deep root system allowed it to survive the Dust Bowl, and gave the Midwest its famous nickname “The Bread Basket”. Heritage wheat was a staple in every household. The history of it can be tracked to biblical times and has been responsible for nourishing generations. Wonderful!
I love tuna macaroni salad, but not with gluten free noodles. These pasta shells are perfect. I don’t have the wheat allergy reaction when I use any of your pastas. Plus I love the flours too.
