Heritage Almond Bar Recipe

Ingredients

1 Cup Butter

½ Cup powdered sugar

2 Cups Heritage Whole Wheat Pastry Flour

8 oz Cream Cheese (softened and whipped)

½ Cup sugar

2 eggs

1 tsp almond extract

¼ Cup butter softened

1 ½ Cups powdered sugar

1 ½ Tbsp milk

1 tsp almond extract

Sprinkle with sliced almonds

Directions
Heat oven to 350F and grease a 9x13in pan
Mix together the crust ingredients (butter, powdered sugar, and flour).
Pat into the bottom of a greased 9x13 pan.
Bake for 20 minutes
While the crust is baking, whip your softened cream cheese with a hand mixer on high speed.
Add sugar, eggs and almond extract. Mix until all ingredients are combined
Pour filling over the hot crust. Bake for 20 more minutes.
Cool completely.
Mix together frosting ingredients and pour over the cooled bars. Before the frosting sets, sprinkle it with sliced almonds.
