12 tablespoons butter softened

⅔ Cup packed brown sugar

1 egg

2 tsp vanilla extract

1 1/2 Cups Fine Rye flour

1 Cup Heritage Whole Wheat Pastry flour

½ tsp salt (omit if using finishing salt)

1 tsp baking soda

5 oz bag chocolate chips (½ bag)

Sea salt or finishing salt, optional but recommended :)
Directions
Heat oven to 350 F
Prepare baking sheet by greasing or using parchment paper
In a large bowl cream together butter and sugar for 2 minutes until light and fluffy.
Add egg and vanilla, mix to incorporate.
In a separate bowl combine rye flour, pastry flour, salt, and baking soda. Slowly mix in the flours.
Mix in chocolate chips.
Using a cookie scoop, place cookie dough balls on the baking sheet. Flatten slightly with hand
Sprinkle lightly with finishing salt, if using.
Bake for 10 minutes or until cookies are brown on the top.
Allow cookies of rest on the baking sheet until cool. Enjoy!
